: Maquipucuna is looking for investors and strategic partners to: • Establish a hybrid business structure that includes for-profit Benefit or B corporations in Canada or the USA and Ecuador to complement the existing nonprofit for-purpose organization, Fundación Maquipucuna, in Ecuador. The for-profit companies will attract investment and manage the ecotourism business, while Fundación Maquipucuna continues to grow its social, education, research, and environmental programs. • Refurbish existing lodging facilities and expand from 12 to 25 upscale rooms, and build a new restaurant, gift shop, reception, resting and game areas, and service areas. • Construct a ‘Canopy Bear Trail’ to enhance guest’s experience in bear and bird watching. • Establish an Andean Bear Interpretation Center to promote conservation education. • Enable low-impact unique access to the cloud forest through an accessible trail and electric service vehicles. • Incubate and accelerate bio-enterprises that strengthen conservation, working in synergy as complementary attractions for the Andean Bear Lodge. • Expand marketing prowess using proven third-party methods.
